At 61 km by road is Punta de Maisí, the easternmost tip of Cuba, one of the desert landscapes that can be found on the island where a lighthouse stands out, known as La Concha and from which, on clear days, it can be see Haiti, located 70 kilometers from Punta de Maisí.

Culture and history info
The city was founded on August 15, 1511 with the name of Our Lady of the Assumption of Baracoa by the Spanish conquistador Diego Velázquez. It is the oldest settlement on the island after the arrival of the Spanish colonizers, hence its nickname of Prime City, was the first capital and the first bishopric of the island.
Be sure to visit the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption, built in 1807 and located in the historic center of the city.
In this city there is the Cruz de la Parra, the only existing one, of those brought by Christopher Columbus to the New World, a symbol of Christianity, preserved to this day in the parish church of Baracoa.
You can enjoy walks on the Malecon of Baracoa, the first malecon of the Caribbean, there are made peasant fairs, sports festivals and popular celebrations (carnivals).
In Baracoa there is a different cuisine than the rest of the island, very influenced by the proximity to the nature and the traditions of Spaniards, African Blacks, emigrants from Haiti and the Cuban Aborigines. You will enjoy unique dishes based on your local products.
